Introduction

Redesigning the visual identity for Kirsty France Writes, we created a distinctive logo built around Kirsty’s initials, “KF”, carefully crafted to resemble a pen writing on paper. The mark is framed within a speech mark, symbolising Kirsty’s role in helping clients find and express their voice through thoughtful, well-crafted writing.

The Challenge

Kirsty had built a strong reputation as a thoughtful copywriter and trainer, but her existing visual identity didn’t fully reflect the clarity, personality, and confidence of her work. As her role expanded beyond freelance writing into workshops, partnerships, and strategic messaging support, she needed a more distinctive and expressive identity that positioned her as a trusted voice specialist rather than just a service provider.

The Solution

Kerf created a visual identity rooted in Kirsty’s role as a guide helping clients express themselves clearly:

  • Designed a distinctive logo built from her initials to resemble a pen writing on paper
  • Framed the mark within a speech shape to reinforce the idea of giving clients their voice
  • Developed a wider visual language using editorial symbols and typographic references
  • Established a rich colour palette reflecting warmth, clarity, and personality
  • Created a flexible identity system suitable across workshops, resources, and marketing
  • Delivered practical brand assets to support consistent communication going forward

The Impact

The wider visual identity extends this idea through a system of editorial symbols, typography marks, and expressive shapes that subtly reference the craft of copywriting and editing. Paired with a rich colour palette of deep purples and radiant orange - reflecting Kirsty’s warmth, clarity, and personality - the brand now provides a cohesive and recognisable visual language that supports her work and communicates her expertise with confidence.
